Steam Deck vs Asus ROG Ally
I leave this page online at the moment but I’m done with the ROG Ally.
I still own it but it’s at the end simply a bad device for the price asked for… (compared to the Steam Deck)
Additional info: Since several weeks I know installed Bazzite on my ROG Ally after I had to return it because it didn’t switch on anymore. This was the best decision ever. The device is so fast compared to the Windows Installation. Maybe I gonna make some further comparisons – we will see.
Here in the table you will find just some of the results of my tests.
I just summarized the most important things…
Es gibt leider sehr vieles wo mich am ROG Ally von Asus stört was mich dann doch sehr überrascht hat am Ende...
Aber seht selbst in der Tabelle
Conclusion:
For me, the Steam Deck is the clear winner because in the end you only have +-5 FPS more, the device is simply not worth it and I would also say that it won’t last as long just because of the overheating…
You would also have to play constantly in Turbo mode to take advantage of the advantages of the SOC (compared to the Steam Deck), which then results in a constantly empty battery.
The whole thing also gets pretty hot in Turbo mode (but thanks to the JSAUX back panel you can save at least 5 degrees) and this becomes noticeable with the fan. I thought the Steam Deck would be loud when maxed out, but it’s really quiet compared to the ROG Ally.
That’s why in the end I can only recommend the ROG Ally to a limited extent.
The best all-rounder is and remains the Steam Deck, and I only have the LCD version (the new OLED version is a little better)
